| What a gyp ending to Beauty & the Geek! The duo that won featured neither a true beauty nor geek. Richard, the absolute king of geekdom, was robbed! Pure entertainment. He was like Screech, Urkel, and that electric violinist from Revenge of the Nerds blended together - except an even worse dancer. At least Screech had The Sprain. Just goes to prove that you simply can't win in life with JUST booksmarts or ridiculously good looks. Unless by life, you mean life on Earth and not an isolated big brother mansion hosted by Brian McFadden.

So anyway, I'm happy to report that my new hire started last week and has been really solid so far. Once he gets up to speed, its going to make my workdays sail. Will finally get to tackle some side projects that I've only been able to scratch. Ya know, I am slightly concerned that he will find me on Xanga, Friendster, Facebook, etc. and I will lose all professional credibility. On that note, I'm giving it a total of two weeks before I start taking mornings off and wearing t-shirts to work again. This good impression thing has its limits. Nice, only two days left! | | |
| things that make me go Hmmmm ...
why did the Catholic church annoint a new Pope that is one banana slip away from dying?
if steroids were safe, would it be allowed in sports? (because one day soon, something like that will be safe) If not, why are physical enhancements like lasik eye surgery allowed?
how is it that can I still listen to Usher's Burn everyday?
what percentage of people would not be faithful to their current religion if they weren't raised with it?
why didn't i get a dvd burner sooner?!
are there real-life Jack Bauer's and Jason Bourne's out there?
do alumni really need to buy tickets to Slope Day?

| One of life's profound mysteries that plague my oft inquisitive mind is
how my man, Yao Ming, all 7' 6" of him, can't average more than 8
rebounds a game??
hmmm ....

Oy! C'mon Yao!

| As you are clenching onto your march madness brackets, hoping for a piece of the pool pie, read this story:
Back in 2002-03, Rick Neuheisel, then U of Washington football coach, put money in NCAA
basketball tourney pools. Maybe he could have
won $10,000. His university decided that his wagers in those pools -
and the lies he later told about them - amounted to "dishonesty" and fired
him. (Coaches aren't supposed to bet on NCAA games.) He
took them to court with a wrongful termination lawsuit. Earlier
this month, when Washington's case looked in trouble, the school
caved and gave Neuheisel a settlement worth an estimated $4.7 Million! Now thats what I call pot odds!
Talk about irony. America is a funny place.
I saw Sin City over the weekend. It was entertaining - NOT A FAMILY OR DATE FILM.
